Please Join Us October 17-23 for the 8th Edition of Montana CINE International Film Festival in Missoula, Montana

Dear Colleagues & Filmmakers,

On behalf of the 8th edition of Montana CINE International Film Festival, Chris Thueson, Festival Coordinator, and our festival staff, we would like to invite you to join us for Montana CINE this year, October 17-23 with screenings and events at both the Roxy Theater and at various venues on the UM Campus and at select locations around Missoula.

These include three screenings and a reception at The Trailhead on Thursday, October 20th from 3-6pm, and a Night of Montana Made films on Friday, October 21st. Friday, October 21st is co-sponsored by the Montana Film Office which is helping to support film and filmmaking here in Montana. On Sunday, October 23rd, the Dana Gallery will host a small reception and screening of one of this year’s award winners, "Desert of Forbidden Art." One of the many highlights of this year’s CINE is the world premier of ‘Life Size Memories."

Award winning international filmmakers, Klaus Reisinger and Frederique Lengaigne, will be here to talk about their new film which has been several years in the making and is an outgrowth of their investigative journalism, that led to the making of this heart wrenching documentary.
Just completed in time for CINE, it is sure to win numerous awards in film festivals worldwide.

We would also like to invite you to join us for the Awards Ceremony and Post-Awards Party at The Loft, on Saturday, October 22nd; the Awards begin at 5:30 and the party at 8:30pm. Many events are free and it’s an important time to celebrate film, filmmakers and especially, filmmaking in Montana and the important work that you do — we hope you will enjoy meeting other filmmakers from around the world and most importantly, participate in discussions about some of the most critical topics and issues that many of these films focus on. Dynamic roundtables and discussions on numerous environmental, cultural and related topics will be a part of this festival and conference week.

A full screening schedule and events schedule are attached for your convenience. The festival program will be available in early October and we encourage you to pick one up at the Roxy Theater before the festival. A few films may also be added to the lineup by festival week.

If you have any questions about the upcoming Montana CINE, co-sponsored by International Programs at The University of Montana, please feel free to contact us anytime. And please feel free to share this with friends and colleagues as well. We hope to see you at Montana CINE October 17-23.

With Warm Regards,

Janet
