Senator Tester announces more details of Oct. 7 Small Business Opportunity Workshop

Raytheon and Alenia will take part in the Butte Small Business Opportunity Workshop

Senator Jon Tester today announced new details about his upcoming Small Business Opportunity Workshop in Butte, an event designed to connect Montana small businesses with valuable contracting and job opportunities.

Leading defense companies Raytheon and Alenia will join Northrup Grumman and Lockheed Martin for a panel presentation on finding and securing small business opportunities during the October 7 event.

Tester’s workshop will also feature three other presentations to provide resources and advice to Montana companies:

· A panel called "Marketing your product to the federal government"

· A presentation about the opportunities available specifically to businesses owned by women and veterans

· A lively discussion among several established Montana businesspersons willing to offer advice about finding success, including Brian Hoornbeek, owner of a2z Supply, in Stevensville

The forum, Tester’s ninth Small Business Opportunity Workshop, is free and open to the public. Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to RSVP online at http://tester.senate.gov/workshop .

Tester’s workshop will also offer extensive networking opportunities allowing Montana businesses to connect with each other, and with key state and federal contracting officials.

Tester’s Butte workshop comes on the heels of Tester’s successful women’s small business workshop http://billingsgazette.com/news/local/article_ddaa1cf8-cf43-5b8d-a69f-90fb02994ae6.html in July. More than 1,600 Montana companies and individuals have attended Tester’s eight previous small business workshops in Great Falls, Bozeman, Kalispell, Billings and Missoula.
