Belgrade companies, Xplore Mobility and ROC Wheels come together for the disabled

Wayne Hanson pushed down on the wheelchair, demonstrating the suspension system with both hands.

It’s his own design, and it allows the chair to go anywhere from a city street to a rough trail. He reclined the chair and pointed out a few other adjustments that make the high-end pediatric wheelchair convenient for children with mild to severe disabilities and their caregivers.

Hanson’s company, Xplore Mobility http://www.xplore-mobility.com/ , manufactures these wheelchairs for kids and shares its designs with the nonprofit Reach Out and Care Wheels, which Hanson co-founded with his wife, Lee Ann. The two are separate entities and Xplore Mobility is most definitely a for-profit endeavor, said Hanson, who also serves as chairman of the board for ROC Wheels http://www.rocwheels.org/ .
