The goal is to create a local chamber that is an umbrella for all efforts to attract and retain businesses.

"We are the organization in this community to create that connectivity," Evans said.

The word "chamber" dominates the organization’s new logo to bring attention to its purpose – to support businesses.

Committee goals have been fine-tuned in an effort to make the best use of volunteers’ time.

"We hope to engage business people to get back in to the process," Evans said.

Past Chamber President Rick Bourne said the new committee structure will bring greater value to chamber activities.

The Great Falls Area Chamber of Commerce committees and their functions are:

# The Business Development Committee will focus on economic development and business relations.

# The Public and Government Affairs Committee will provide research and information on issues that affect the economic vitality of the community.
