Western Montana getaway: Cheff Guest Ranch offers classic cowboy adventure
The Cheff Guest Ranch http://www.cheffguestranch.com , located just north of Ninepipe National Wildlife Refuge, has everything you need for a classic cowboy adventure in the Mission Mountains.
You can lodge in a cozy log cabin, eat a hearty ranch breakfast, take a scenic horseback ride, hunt and fish.
Bud Cheff Sr., who passed away on Monday, started the ranch in 1933. Now it’s maintained by son Mick Cheff and his wife Karen.
"It’s been handed down," said Karen Cheff. "It’s what he’s (Mick) always wanted to do."
