Greater Ravalli Foundation names Montana scholarship winners – Asks winners to pay it forward.

So many different adjectives came to mind when Matt Guzik was describing last week’s Greater Ravalli Foundation’s http://www.tgrf.org/ scholarship banquet. But one stood out above the rest.

"It was an extremely emotional night," Guzik said.

It’s easy to see why. The foundation was awarding 12 Ravalli County high school students with $8,000 college scholarships to be doled out in equal two-year portions.

"It’s a substantial gift," Guzik said. "For some people, they wouldn’t be able to go to school. It’s very touching. We’re lucky to be able to do something."

The Greater Ravalli Foundation http://www.tgrf.org/ has also struck a deal with the University of Montana http://www.umt.edu/future.aspx . Any students who receive the foundation’s two-year scholarship and keep a 2.5 GPA through their first two years of school will receive a matching scholarship at the same level for two more years.
