LinkedIn IPO gives founder Reid Hoffman his moment on stage

Even though LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman started the first U.S.-based social network to go public, he gets far less attention than that dude at Facebook.

But while he doesn’t hobnob with Oprah, and hasn’t been on Time’s cover, Hoffman, 43, is both a spiritual and financial godfather to the current generation of social network founders — Mark Zuckerberg included. Over the past decade, Hoffman’s work as an entrepreneur and hyperactive startup investor has made him one of the most influential figures in Silicon Valley’s entrepreneurial scene.
