While other states flounder in debt, Utah stands as one of most fiscally fit in nation
Chris Christie, the governor of New Jersey, was standing before a town hall last September in the city of Rutherford. As he took off his suit coat to take a question, a school teacher, her voice at times trembling, tore into Christie for "lambasting" her profession, slashing the education budget, and wreaking havoc on the middle class.
In what essentially became a rallying cry for fiscal conservatives across the country, Christie pushed back, pointing out that the state of New Jersey was facing a billion dollar hole in the education budget as well as declining state revenues.
A YouTube clip of the encounter has since attracted nearly one million hits.
