Experts criticize decision to move water institute under Alberta Innovates umbrella

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

In the Rockies today, Alberta’s plan to move the Water Research Institute under the umbrella of Alberta Innovates is being criticized because it will put the group under the authority of a board headed by former Syncrude CEO Eric Newell.
