Workshops in WA and ID focus on lean manufacturing

"Lean Manufacturing Certification Program," a series of six workshops designed to help manufacturers streamline their process, runs from Sept. 12 to Nov. 21 in Spokane.

The workshops are a collaboration between Idaho TechHelp and Washington Manufacturing Services. The nonprofit organizations assist small- and medium-sized manufacturers in areas such as product and process development, marketing information technology and training.

The sessions are $250 each, or $1,350 for the entire series. For more information, call Jim Burtelow, (208) 777-7952, or log on at http://www.Techhelp.org.

The North Idaho office of TechHelp is located in the University of Idaho Research Park in Post Falls. TechHelp is a partnership of three Idaho universities and the U.S. Economic Development Administration and the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Washington Manufacturing Services is a similar nonprofit consortium in Washington state.
