Creating Rural Jobs in the Bioeconomy
March 16, 2011 /
One of the Region’s opportunities for job creation and renewed economic growth
is through the development of the region’s bioeconomy.
The bioeconomy is the
creation of power, fuels, and products from biomass–organic material derived
from plants, trees, and animals. The opportunity for rural communites lies across
the bioeconomy supply chain from the growth and distribution of biomass to the
manufacturing of biomass-based products.
