Small-business workshops scheduled in Conrad, Fairfield, Shelby and Cut Bank, Montana

Sweetgrass Development, in conjunction with the local area chambers of commerce in Conrad, Fairfield, Shelby and Cut Bank, will conduct small-business training workshops throughout the area.

The training will focus on what is needed to start a business and tips for current business owners.

Topics will include: ABCs of business, from start to finish, by Rebecca Engum of the Small Business Development Center; financing, by Jeremiah Johnson of High Plains Financial; the cooperative development model, by Brian Gion of the Montana Cooperative Development Center; training and planning assistance, by Karyl Tobel of the Montana Department of Commerce; and an overview of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development programs by Lea McGiboney.

The training session are from 5 to 8 p.m. on the following dates and locations:

# Conrad at the Pondera Golf Course, March 15;

# Fairfield at City Hall, March 28;

# Shelby at Marias Electric Cooperative, March 29 and;

# Cut Bank at Glacier Electric Cooperative, March 31.
