Stevensville, Montana specialty pipefitting manufacturing business revitalized, more jobs coming – Specialized Fittings

When Greg and Kathy Gundel started their specialty pipefitting manufacturing business 16 years ago in Washington state, they had absolutely no intention of ever owning a second plant.

So when they learned that a similar manufacturing operation was being sold at auction just outside Stevensville, the couple thought at first they might be able to pick up some good equipment at a good price.

They sent a partner to the auction.

"We went there with the intention of just buying some pieces," Greg Gundel said. "We saw the facility and we were pretty enamored."

Many of the new jobs that are being created require specialized skills. Bitterroot Job Service http://wsd.dli.mt.gov/local/hamilton/ is working with Specialized Fittings and other businesses to help retrain workers who have lost jobs to layoffs or business closures.
