Montana to receive $185,000 in settlement with DirecTV

atellite TV provider DirecTV http://www.directv.com has agreed to a $13.25 million settlement with Montana, 48 other states, and the District of Columbia on Wednesday.

The El Segundo, Calif., company also will pay $1 million to Washington state in a separate settlement and will make restitution to customers, the Associated Press reports.

Montana Attorney General Steve Bullock and other prosecutors alleged that the satellite TV provider engaged in deceptive and unfair sales practices. As part of the settlement, DirecTV agreed to pay restitution to consumers and to alter its business practices in the future.
