Industrial tax-increment district considered to help Bonner mill site near Missoula, Montana

Missoula County is considering the creation of an industrial tax-increment district to stimulate redevelopment at the Bonner mill site, and commissioners want to see how the idea flies in the community.

Dale Bickell, the county’s chief administrative officer, said the district would be similar to two "very successful" districts that form the Missoula Development Park near Missoula International Airport.

On Tuesday, commissioners Michele Landquist, Bill Carey and Jean Curtiss sent a letter to Dick King of the Missoula Area Economic Development Corp. expressing their interest.

In it they said redevelopment would create jobs and add tax base for the community.
