State education leaders praise Montana Governor Schweitzer for support in budget

Gov. Brian Schweitzer’s proposed biennial budget unveiled earlier this week was met with gratitude on Wednesday at the state Board of Education’s meeting in Missoula.

Members thanked the governor for supporting education at a time when the economy is sluggish but the academic need is great.

"We appreciate your continued support of higher education," said Clayton Christian, chairman of the Montana Board of Regents.
