This regional event focuses on attracting food processors and related industries to the region for
value-added agriculture. Networking with local growers, community leaders, and the food processing industry
leaders has fostered many new partnerships and brought opportunities for new crops, research, and jobs to
the region and state.
The four ag tours on Wednesday showcase the region through a variety of visits to area agricultural sites
and food processing facilities in northeastern Montana and northwestern North Dakota. The golf tourney allows
a great opportunity to develop and sustain business and personal relationships.

On Wednesday, four tours-two in each state-are available beginning at 9 a.m. These tours provide an
opportunity to view new food processors in the region, such as Bushel 42 Pasta and Superior Grains. Tours will
also provide viewing and discussion of new alternative crops being grown including potatoes, onions,
pumpkins, pulse crops, malting barley, and durum wheat. Stops in eastern Montana include the Montola
Growers plant in Culbertson, new irrigation projects, and the Eastern Montana Agricultural Research Center
and USDA-ARS, Northern Plains Agricultural Research Laboratory in Sidney.
Local businessmen, farmers, and ranchers are invited to attend. For more information, contact the Eastern
Plains RC&D office in Sidney at 433-5024.
