Idaho State University college dean to work with Allstate in effort to educate workers for new center here

One of the first people Gynii Gilliam turns to when she’s working to recruit a new business to the area is the dean of Idaho State University’s College of Technology, Marilyn Davis.

Gilliam, executive director of Bannock Development Corp., said Davis played a significant role in the community’s efforts to land a major Allstate Insurance call Center, scheduled to be built near the Pine Ridge Mall in Chubbuck. The facility will employ between 500 and 600 workers, offering good wages and benefits.

“The first site visit, if it’s clear they’ll need workforce training, Marilyn is already right there the first day we meet the company,” Gilliam said.
