Gates Foundation offers $20 million for education technology proposals

Can digital games, interactive video, social media and online classes help American students better prepare for and complete college?

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is creating a $20 million fund for grants to expand technology tools that show promising results.

Called the Next Generation Learning Challenges http://nextgenlearning.com/ , the initiative will be run by the IT education nonprofit EDUCAUSE http://www.educause.edu/ and aims to "dramatically improve college readiness and college completion in the United States through the use of technology."
