Sign Long-Term Agreement to Provide Cutting-Edge Internet Services
, including Secure Bioterrorism and Emergency Alert Network Linking Government and Healthcare Communities.

Invizeon Corporation and the California Medical Association have formed a strategic alliance that gives public health officials direct access in real time to physicians and other health and public safety professionals in case of a bioterrorism attack or other medical emergencies. Physicians across the state and other users employing the application on their Internet-connected personal computers will be able to get the latest, up-to-the-minute information in case of a bioterrorist event, earthquake, disaster or other health emergency.

Invizeon Corporation, a software subscription service provider based in Missoula, Montana and the CMA have created the alliance to foster a new era of public-private cooperation between organized medicine and public health agencies. The new Internet-based network does not require users to load software or purchase any additional equipment and is centered on Invizeon’s Physician-Desktop, a secure communications and educational system that includes Invizeon’s new Community Health Alert and Information Network, or CHAINtm.

“We’re excited to be breaking new ground with Invizeon,” said Jack C. Lewin, MD, CMA’s Chief Executive Officer, “Physicians want to continue to play a lead role in the planning and preparedness for bioterrorism events. The CHAIN platform and Physician Desktop provide the added bonus of ongoing linkage between public health agencies and the healthcare community, which also means we can better track, report and cope with other public health conditions, diseases and related issues.”

The CHAIN was developed at the urging of the CMA and other medical associations and is built on the latest Microsoft .NET platform. It serves as an everyday, secure web-based communication and alert system that provides a means for the investigation, identification, delivery and sharing of information among disease control centers, state and local health departments, universities, hospitals, pharmacies, first responders, fire departments and other entities which require immediate access to breaking alert, warning and advisory information.

The CMA and local medical societies and associations have already begun to promote public-private partnerships with county healthcare officials throughout California. By integrating the CHAIN into the desktop platform, the partnership model offers a more cost effective approach, insuring that physicians and the many other first responders (to an emergency) will receive real-time emergency information via a variety of electronic devices.

David Todd, President and CEO of Invizeon Corp. said. “Immediately following the bio-terrorism threats of 2001, Invizeon, building on our existing technology platform, began working with the CMA to develop a solution which brings together the core-competencies of both organizations. We all feel honored to be in a position to make a significant contribution to our Nation’s mandate to establish a comprehensive communication network linking public health agencies and officials with healthcare professionals and other emergency response agencies.”

The CMA-Invizeon agreement also calls for Invizeon to use, MEDePass, Inc. as the primary user-identity authenticator. MEDePass provides a digital certification technology which will embedded into the Physician-Desktop and which will confirm the identity of licensed healthcare professionals and their staff who are sending sensitive or personal health-related information over the Internet. These “digital certificates” are individual identities that are expressed electronically. Using MEDePass ensures that electronic transmissions can be conducted in a secure and, confidential manner over the Internet.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for the public health community to respond to the Federal bio-terrorism preparedness mandate to completely rebuild and reconnect to the private healthcare community” said Dr. Lewin. “The opportunity to make the critical local ‘last mile’ connection to physicians and other professionals who will be the first to respond in an emergency is finally here, and we look forward to helping make it a reality in our state.”
