Oregon Growth Account re-ups with Angel Fund; ambivalent on Portland Seed Fund

State backing for Oregon startups may be harder to come by in the years ahead, as board members of the Oregon Growth Account gave a lukewarm reception to funding pitches they heard at their quarterly meeting this morning in Tigard.

The OGA, which derives its funding from state lottery dollars, is feeling pinched by declining lottery revenue, board members lamented today.

So the Oregon Angel Fund, which sought a renewal of its $1.5 million in state support for three more years, got only one year. Board members said they still hope to extend that, but can’t make a commitment before knowing what the Legislature will do next spring
