Bjorn Lomborg’s climate change sparks environment debate

Changed climate views by "skeptical environmentalist" Bjørn Lomborg should be celebrated by environment advocates, says one public opinion expert, instead of being met with derision.

Lomborg, 45, is best known for his 2001 book, The Skeptical Environmentalist, which rated global warming way down on the list of world priorities (below eradicating malaria for example), sparking a long-running fight over the statistics he picked to make his argument. But this week, Lomborg made headlines in the United Kingdom when the Guardian reported his next book would include a call for a carbon tax, loathed by global warming naysayers, and a $100 Billion annual global effort to address climate change.
