North Dakota Schools Work to Expand Tech Ed

The North Dakota Department of Career and Technical Education says 80 percent of North Dakota jobs are tech related, and instructors are learning new ways to prepare middle and high school students for those jobs.

The Department of Career and Technical Education says it`s always looking for ways to interact better with students and provide a solid footing for their future careers.

As expansion continues in northwest North Dakota`s oil fields, so does career and tech education at the high school and post-secondary levels.

"All the middle skill jobs, they`re really looking for those types of jobs," said Wayne Kutzer, Department of Career and Technical Education. "They`re needed so badly."
