As the Sales and Service Associate for Plum Creek’s Plywood business, you’ll have the opportunity to assist with creating, auditing, and invoicing order transactions for the sales and marketing group and provide administrative support. This team sells specialty products to industrial clients throughout the nation. You will have the opportunity to learn the business inside and out from the manufacturing process to the product mix.

This role will interact daily with long-term customers and distributors, handle select number of sales accounts, develop orders via customer contacts, analyze necessary sales data to manage outside warehouse inventory levels, investigate and resolve potential claim data, prepare monthly plywood key performance indicator data and help to coordinate efforts between two manufacturing plants. You will also be able to walk out on the manufacturing floor and interact with the people who make our specialty plywood. You will collaborate with our team of four plywood sales professionals who value teamwork and open, honest communication.

You will be continually challenged to deepen your knowledge and expertise in areas such as customer product needs, product mix, and technical manufacturing specs. Your growth will be facilitated by opportunities to drive results and to collaborate with our customers, sales team, and manufacturing.

This role will have the opportunity to:

Provide administrative support processing orders and invoices.

Maintain all sales data records including purchase requests, written orders, shipping documents and invoice copies.

Assist with tactical planning decisions pertaining to veneer availability vs. customer need, assist in new product development process, and is responsible for sales decisions, independently exercising business judgment to maximize product line profitability within a given set of customers.

Education:

BS/BA degree in business, marketing or related discipline or equivalent work experience is strongly preferred.

Experience:

3 years in sales or customer service, manufacturing, or other business related role is strongly preferred. Familiarity with wood products markets and/or manufacturing preferred.

Specific Skills:

Must display strong interpersonal sales traits, self starter with a positive attitude, excellent relationship building and management skills, with solid listening and communication aptitude. Well organized and works systematically with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to analyze data is critical. High productivity, good planning, prioritization, time management, adaptability and problem solving skills. Proficient with current computer technology, including a strong background in Excel. Experience in wood products sales or manufacturing highly preferred.

Other:

Occasional overnight travel, out of state, for trade show attendance or customer visits as required (approximately 2 trips per year).

Salary Range: $37,400 – $49,500
