Students from around the world converge on the University of Montana for research conference

College hippies on the University of Montana campus have been replaced by students wearing pantsuits, business jackets and ties, holding briefcases that contain research projects that have brought them to the Garden City for the 24th National Conference on Undergraduate Research.

More than 2,800 students and their faculty advisers from 300 colleges nationwide and internationally have converged on Missoula where, for three days, they are presenting research on topics that range from dance and psychology to botany and astrophysics.

The undergraduate research conference continues through Saturday. All the presentations are free and the public is encouraged to attend. To find a schedule of presentations, go to the UM Web site http://umt.edu/future.aspx .
