Bitterroot College Program reaches out – Summer 2010 course list available online

To doubters of a college mission for the Bitterroot Valley, Victoria Clark needs only to describe the desire she sees in the people who visit her Hamilton office.

Clark, the interim director of the Bitterroot College Program http://www.umt.edu/bcp/ , said often they are people looking for any kind of opportunity.

“I had a couple in here and they had walked from Corvallis,” she said, referring to a husband and wife who have been out of work “for quite a while. There is no work and they didn’t have money for gas.”

Despite the fact that enrollment went beyond 70 students this semester – more than doubling the previous count – Clark and the BCP are reaching out, both to inform Ravalli County residents about the program, and to take their input.
