U.S. Freestyle Kayak Team Trials to be held on Brennan’s Wave in Missoula

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

Downtown Missoula and the Clark Fork River that runs through it will be in the limelight this summer when the nation’s best freestyle kayakers come to town to compete for a spot on the U.S. Freestyle Kayak Team.

More than 200 competitors will be pulling out their best tricks and performances at the U.S. Team Trials, which will be held June 30-July 2 at Brennan’s Wave http://www.squidoo.com/wavepark . Their objective: to throw as many different moves as possible in a 60-second time frame and earn the right to compete at the World Freestyle Kayaking Championships in Germany.

"This is huge for us," said K.B. Brown, owner of Strongwater, a Missoula kayak specialty shop and the chief push behind the successful team trials bid.
