Challenges for Rural High School Girls | Video

A report released today shows that junior and senior high school girls living in rural North Dakota don`t have as strong a sense of opportunity as girls in urban areas.

Women`s organizations say the results suggest the state needs to examine programs and policies that will help raise expectations of these young women. The women`s network would like to see increased access to mentoring programs, strengthened enforcement of workplace equality and pay equity laws, and increased curriculum offerings especially in foreign language learning opportunities.
