Missoula business leaders tell Senator Baucus: Pass health reform, loosen bank regulation

There is widespread worry that Montana’s economy will continue to sputter and shrink unless Congress acts quickly, Missoula business leaders told U.S. Sen. Max Baucus http://baucus.senate.gov/ on Friday.

The morning meeting at the Missoula Chamber of Commerce http://www.missoulachamber.com/ was attended by three dozen bankers and business owners, most of whom agreed that health care reform needs to be passed – but who also said Montana’s community banks must be released from onerous regulations that stifle their ability to lend.

Baucus, in his third stop statewide touting the jobs bill and health care reform, said change is well on its way.
