Enterprise builders

February 1, 2010View for printing

I've been kicking a term around in my head for several weeks now...enterprise builders.

Over the years we have had lots of fitful discussion about how to describe fast growing companies and what the term entrepreneur means. The term is broad and is used to cover everything from the one-person start up who takes a risk to offer a product or service all the way to those who run high growth companies (which we have historically called gazelles). I'm not sure the term will ever settle down nor in particular describe our focused niche.

But an "enterprise builder" sets out from the get-go to change the world and in the process builds an enterprise that creates wealth and jobs. Much, much different than Stage I companies that create a job for the owner and a few others.
