Montana Talent – Computer Programmer – Zander Thompson

My name is Zander Thompson, and I just recently moved to Missoula from New Jersey, where I was a computer programmer with New York life Insurance Company.

Noted in my attached resume, I was a Computer Science major in college at Willamette University. I also gained experience as an intern at New York Life in the Business Resumption Department. I have knowledge in computer programming, especially in Java, thanks to my Computer Science education. I was also trained in legacy systems programming in COBOL through New York Life. I am an enthusiastic student of technology who is always interested in learning new things. I love solving technical problems and enjoy creating new solutions.

I am a person who loves a challenge, and I like to push myself to exceed expectations. For example, I took on the task of creating a physics simulator in Java for my Senior Seminar, and was selected to present my work for Student Scholarship Recognition Day at Willamette University. After the presentation, I continued to develop the project further until the end of the semester, and was happy with what I accomplished. I consider myself a strong team player, and have worked well with others, such as during group projects as an intern at New York Life. I have an easygoing personality and always get along well with my peers and coworkers. I can also perform well independently and as a leader as I did while being a Teaching Assistant for a Computer Animation class at Willamette University. I am very capable of working independently with little instruction and supervision. Additionally, my Liberal Arts education has given me effective oral and written communication skills. I enjoy learning, especially about technology, and am quick to pick up new abilities. I believe this makes me a very trainable employee.

I would love to speak with you further about my qualifications and career goals. Thank you for your time and consideration, and please let me know if you need any more information from me.

Sincerely,

Zander Thompson
