Bitterroot biofuel goal of partnership – Bioroot Energy

Mark Radosevich is a biologist and environmental technologist whose Colorado firm holds the patents to create alcohol-based fuel out of almost anything made from carbon – from coal to sewage to wood. On a recent sunny afternoon, he gamely stood in a parking lot in Darby and poured bright green Envirolene – his patented fuel – into an old Nissan Altima while waxing about its enhanced performance capabilities and clean burn.

Jay Toups is a Darby resident, web designer and software developer who on June 16, 2008, had a heart attack in the parking lot of a local restaurant and emerged from the event with the conviction to change the trajectory of his life.

These two men are pairing to do what they say has never before been done – create clean transportation fuel out of the Bitterroot’s trash, sewage and thinned timber.
