Montana State University will offer 11 graduate-level online science courses this spring.

Montana State University http://www.montana.edu/ will offer 11 online graduate courses for science teachers this spring, covering topics from space flight to physics to water quality.

The courses are delivered through the National Teachers Enhancement Network, or NTEN, which has offered MSU online courses since 1993.

Some of the Spring 2010 courses are designed specifically for elementary teachers, including The Science of Sound (PHYS 580) and The Dirt on Soil Science (LRES 580-02), both of which offer one graduate credit.

Other spring courses include Quantum Mechanics (PHYS 513), Comparative Planetology (PHYS 514), Water Quality in the Classroom (LRES 580-01), and more.

Also, a graduate course in astrobiology is offered at a reduced tuition, thanks to sponsorship from SETI Institute and the NASA Astrobiology Institute.

Courses begin in January, February and March, and many offer a discount to members of the National Science Teachers Association.
