Grads of Climb Wyoming job program struggle to find work
December 7, 2009 /
Climb Wyoming http://www.climbwyoming.org/ has provided a helping hand for single mothers in Wyoming since it began in 1986.
The program has enabled more than 1,000 women in Wyoming to get out of poverty and support their families.
In Gillette, the number of women who completed the class has risen to about 120, said Sandra Hoffman, the Gillette program director.
In the past, those women have had jobs before they graduate. But times have changed.
“When we began, employers were hungry for help,” Hoffman said. “With what’s happening now, there’s caution but optimism.”
