eBay accepts third incentive from the State of Utah to expand operations

Online marketplace eBay Inc. has officially accepted a $2.1 million incentive package offered by the state of Utah to further expand its operations in Draper and hire 207 more workers.

The incentive package is the company’s third in Utah. In 2008, eBay was offered and accepted a $27.3 million incentive to build and staff a high-tech data-storage center in Draper that will create 50 high-paying jobs that pay an average of more than $50,000 annually. The company accepted that incentive, payable over 10 years in the form of a tax credit, and is now constructing the data center.
