NorthWestern Energy Announces Power Purchase Agreement with Turnbull Hydro, LLC

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

NorthWestern Energy announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Turnbull Hydro, LLC to purchase 13 megawatts of clean, renewable energy from a new generating facility located on an existing irrigation canal near Fairfield, Montana.

The agreement is the culmination of a competitive Request for Proposal effort to identify cost effective electric energy supply agreements that meet Montana’s Renewable Portfolio Standard requirements. “This project fits nicely in our portfolio of electric resources,” said Chief Supply Officer, John Hines. “This hydro facility will provide our customers with a stable, reliable source of cost effective electricity that has no carbon emissions.”
