Gov stresses need for wind energy revenue
October 28, 2009 /
The Legislature next year should develop a way to generate revenue from wind energy, Gov. Dave Freudenthal said today.
The lawmakers also should set out for wind projects the same requirements for bonding and reclamation, construction and maintenance of roads and contributions to schools that coal, oil and gas producers are subject to, the governor said.
"We want a level playing field among the players in the energy sector. As it it sits today, there is none," Freudenthal said during his regular news conference.
