Here is a special message from your Kootenai River Country Hosts:

“Lincoln County has opened its arms to MEDA members and the Fall MEDA Conference. We look forward to showing you the very northwest of Northwest Montana, where as we write this, it is still summer. Great weather, good fishing and floating, a brand new back nine on the golf course, huckleberries (still), eagles, osprey, and a Nordic Velkommen (welcome). What more could you want? Okay, maybe interesting speakers, great tours and delicious food (a Bubba burger, perhaps? Very tasty). We will have that too.

Many people who live here say this is the very best time of year. We would agree with them. There is an energy in the air. And this year, since we haven’t had forest fires, the air is especially clear. The moon will be waning, a silver crescent over the Cabinet Mountains. Orion climbing to his winter place in the sky. The leaves have just a whisper of fall color. The Kootenai, not too wild or too tame. The evenings cool, and the days warm. And if you are lucky and up really early (or really, really late, for that matter) the northern lights will dance their shimmering dance for you. Even in a state filled with as much beauty as Montana, this country can take your breath away.

So come join us for good time, watch a parade, play a game of golf, shake a new hand, learn something you never knew, see something you’ve never seen, and go home with a brand new story.”
