PFM Manufacturing of Townsend, Montana lands Lockheed-Martin contract

One of the first borrowers ever lined up by the local economic development authority more than a decade ago has paid his account back in full.

Pat Miller, owner of PFM Manufacturing http://www.landtamer.com/ in Townsend, borrowed $25,000 from what was then known as Gateway Economic Development Corp. in 1999. On Monday, Miller delivered a check to the entity now known as Montana Business Assistance Connection to pay off the last of what have been more than $300,000 worth of loans in the past decade. (He maintains a revolving line of credit with MBAC.)

Miller’s company manufactures an off-road amphibious vehicle called the Land Tamer. He credits a licensing deal with Lockheed Martin, a giant in the defense contracting industry, with enabling him to pay off his loans and turn his attention toward a spacious new manufacturing facility to be built five miles north of Townsend on Highway 12.
