The emerging clean-energy economy is a real opportunity for Montana to be a leader in building and expanding companies, creating new and sustainable jobs that will enable Montanans to have good paying jobs right here at home, and keeping energy affordable and reliable for everyone in Montana.

A recent report, Green Recovery: A Program to Create Good Jobs and Start Building a Low Carbon Economy, by the Public Economy Research Institute, estimates that accelerated investments in a clean-energy economy would create over 6,000 jobs in Montana in the next few year. Wind, solar, biofuels, “smart grids,” energy efficiency, and other clean-energy technologies and sectors are poised for explosive growth. But, we need the right policies now that reward innovation to maximize growth potential for investors and entrepreneurs in our region.

Landmark clean-energy policy that will pave the way for this new clean energy economy is being debated right now at the federal level so the time to act is now!
