Tribe doles out nearly $2M dollars for education

The Coeur d’Alene Tribe handed out nearly $2 million Tuesday in support of education in North Idaho.
"The big winners today are the kids, the kids in Idaho," said tribe chairman Chief Allan.
Leaders in education joined tribal leaders for a ceremony at the Stensgar Pavilion to mark the distribution of the funds.
Since entering the gaming industry 15 years ago, the tribe has given more than $12 million to local agencies dedicated to education.
