Montana Career Opportunity – President – Montana State University

Upon the retirement of Geoffrey Gamble, Montana State University (MSU) http://www.montana.edu/
is seeking applications and nominations for the position of President.

The
President reports to the Board of Regents of the Montana University System
through the Commissioner of Higher Education.
MSU is Montana’s land grant university and ranked by the Carnegie
Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching among the top 96 research
universities in the nation (RU/VH). It is multi-site university with its
flagship campus in Bozeman, additional campuses in Billings, Havre, and
Great Falls, and land grant agencies with facilities throughout the state. The
combined enrollment of the university exceeds 20,000, with more than
12,000 enrolled on the Bozeman campus, 1,850 of whom are graduate
students.

MSU offers bachelor’s degrees in 51 fields, master’s degrees in 42 fields,
and doctoral degrees in 18 fields, with numerous specialized programs and
certificates. The Bozeman campus is organized into eight colleges
(Agriculture, Arts & Architecture, Business, Education/Health & Human
Development, Engineering, Letters and Science, Nursing, and University
College) and numerous research centers, institutes, and laboratories. There
are more that 500 tenure-track, 350 adjunct, plus research and extension
faculty, and nearly 800 professional and 1200 classified staff. In 2008
sponsored research expenditures totaled $96 million.
