“You cannot win unless you choose to compete.”

First, let me offer my congratulations to the Class of 2009. Your hard work and perseverance has paid off and you are about to embark on the next phase of your life. With the world in its current uncertain state, you are bound to find excitement, opportunity, and to some degree, chaos. But regardless of the external environment, your educational experience here at The University of Montana will serve you well.

I also would like to congratulate the parents, friends, and relatives of the Class of 2009 – many of you can now stop making those down payments on your children’s future.
