Head-hunters to lead search for new president of Montana State University

The new president will have a big impact on not only the university, but also the state’s economic development over the next decade.

Hiring a professional firm to lead the search for a new president at Montana State University http://www.montana.edu/ could cost $75,000 or more, but the state Board of Regents reached consensus Friday that it would be well worth the money.

“We don’t have the contacts” to conduct a national search, Regents Chairman Stephen Barrett of Bozeman said at the end of the regents’ four-hour workshop in Bozeman.
