Portland area growth report estimates need for up to 300,000 more homes by 2030
April 1, 2009 /
A preliminary urban growth report http://www.oregonmetro.gov/urbangrowthreport estimates the Portland area will need 225,000 to 300,000 additional homes to accommodate the regional population growth expected by 2030.
The report provides the foundation for upcoming growth decisions, including whether to expand the current urban growth boundary. Metro http://www.oregonmetro.gov/ , the regional government, will make that decision in 2011.
