Flat screens among high-tech tools adopted by Senior High in Billings, Montana

There are no more morning recitals of announcements at Senior High.

Instead, students can read the announcements on 18 flat-screen monitors throughout the school, including four in the Crossroads Café, Senior’s small cafeteria.

The idea for electronic postings came to Principal Dennis Holmes when he was in an airport, where travelers go to monitors for flight information. The approach makes sense in schools, too, because kids are used to getting information electronically.

"We’re disseminating student information the way they best receive it," Holmes said.
