Judge orders Portlock Software to pay landlord $65,000

A Butte software company has been ordered to pay its former landlord more than $65,000.

District Judge Brad Newman ruled Tuesday that John Hanley, owner of Portlock Software http://www.portlock.com/ , owes Uptown Ventures $65,650 for breaching the lease, back property taxes and other expenses.

In February, Uptown Ventures filed in Butte district court a request for default entry against the software company claiming it failed to pay rent for more than two months on the property at 101 N. Main St. The landlord also claimed Hanley remained in possession of the property for nearly two months after the lease ended.
