Big Sky Economic Development Trust Fund (BSTF) 2009 Guidelines Now Available

The 2009 Application Guidelines and Forms for the Big Sky Economic Development Trust Fund (BSTF) Program with the Montana Department of Commerce are now available at: http://www.businessresources.mt.gov/BRD_Trustfund.asp or may be requested by contacting the Department.

Category I – Economic Development Projects: 75% of BSTF earnings are awarded to local governments in the form of grants and loans for economic development projects that create new qualifying jobs for Montana residents. Applications will be accepted on an open-cycle basis until all available funds are committed to approved projects.

Category II – Planning Grants: 25% of BSTF earnings are awarded to Certified Regional Development Corporations and other qualified economic development organizations in Counties not covered by a CRDC in the form of grants for planning activities. Eligible planning activities include feasibility studies, business plans, workforce surveys, target industry analyses, preliminary architectural reports and preliminary engineering reports. Applications will be accepted throughout the year on a calendar quarter basis with application deadlines of March 31st, June 30th, September 30th and December 31st unless otherwise specified by the Department, until all available funds are committed to approved projects.
