The Bitterroot Valley Chamber of Commerce grants aim to help local economy

The Bitterroot Valley Chamber of Commerce http://www.bitterrootvalleychamber.com/ is offering grants to businesses, nonprofit groups, schools and other organizations to promote the local economy.

The new community enrichment grant program was announced Thursday.

A percentage of the chamber’s membership fees will fund the grants, which are open to members and non-members.

Applicants should send a letter to the chamber detailing what the grant money would be used for and how it would benefit local communities, said Pat Easley, the chamber’s office manger.

The grants are targeted for projects and events that promote the valley’s economy by drawing visitors and promoting spending, such as Darby Days, Logger Days, Daly Days, Chief Victor Days and Western Heritage Days.
