Gazette Opinion: University research a big benefit to Montana

Research conducted by the Montana University System has boosted both the state’s traditional industries, such as agriculture and mining, and new industries such as bioscience. The millions that the universities garner in federal grants bring additional cash into our state, provide research opportunities for the best and brightest Montana faculty and students, help Montana students become more competitive for science jobs and give them reasons to stay in Montana.
